Transmigrating as the Villain’s Mother Chapter 10

"Deliver food?"

Mu Cheng stood there, dumbfounded.

After losing yesterday, he had asked her what condition she wanted to set. She had only said she'd tell him another day before leaving. He thought she wouldn't cash in on this condition anytime soon.

Unexpectedly, he was woken up early this morning by her call, saying she wanted him to fulfill his promise. He rushed over, thinking she would set some harsh condition. Instead, she just wanted him to do her food delivery job for a day.

Ridiculous, truly ridiculous.

She was so beautiful, why deliver food? Anything else would earn more money than food delivery. Besides, she had his promise, and he hadn't limited what she could ask for. If she really needed money, why not just exchange the condition for cash instead of delivering food?

Su Miao eyed him. "What's with that expression? Don't tell me you're thinking of backing out of your promise."

I advise you not to entertain such thoughts, or my fists might develop a mind of their own.

"I..." Mu Cheng was utterly speechless.

"How could that be possible? I'm a man of my word."

Su Miao looked satisfied. "Then I'll trouble you with this."

She handed him the keys to the electric scooter and the delivery uniform.

Mu Cheng looked at the scooter keys in his hand with disdain. "Can't I use my own car for deliveries? The scooter seems a bit unsafe."

"No," Su Miao shook her head. "To deliver food, you need to look the part. How can you look like a delivery guy riding that flashy sports car of yours?"

Mu Cheng: "..."

"I don't look anything like a delivery guy anyway," Mu Cheng spread his arms, his expression complex.

Was there any delivery guy as handsome as him?

Su Miao fell silent.

Indeed, he didn't look like a delivery guy at all. He looked more like he was about to walk a runway.

Look at all those accessories hanging around his neck, that exquisite black obsidian on his ear, and that ash-gray hair. He was too stylish even for a fashion show.

However, he was quite easy on the eyes.

Su Miao took out the cap that came with the delivery outfit from the delivery box and put it on Mu Cheng's head. "Now you look a bit more the part. Once you put on the uniform, it should be about right."

After a moment's thought, she added, "And wear a mask to cover your face."

Mu Cheng: "..."

If only he had known, he wouldn't have made that bet with her.

And so, Mu Cheng was forced to do Su Miao's delivery job. Not only that, but Su Miao also borrowed his sports car.

Su Miao sped away in Mu Cheng's ostentatious red sports car, finally stopping in front of the Yueting Club.

Seeing an unfamiliar sports car parked at the entrance, Yan Zhuo approached curiously.

There were no races this week, so why would a sports car come here? The car looked unfamiliar; it probably didn't belong to a friend of Young Master Xiao.

As the window slowly rolled down, Su Miao's strikingly beautiful face was revealed. Yan Zhuo walked up with a smile, "Oh, it's Miss Su."

Su Miao got out of the car and tossed the car keys to Yan Zhuo. "Where's your boss?"

"Young Master Xiao is in his office," Yan Zhuo caught the keys, his face beaming with a smile.

Young Master Xiao had invited Miss Su many times, but she had always declined. Who would have thought she'd come on her own today?

Su Miao walked into the club without waiting for an invitation.

The club members who saw Su Miao all greeted her respectfully: "Miss Su."

Su Miao nodded in acknowledgment.

A knock sounded on the door.

Xiao Zeyan's bored voice came from inside, "Come in."

Su Miao pushed the door open at his words. She saw Xiao Zeyan sprawled on his desk, his eyes fixed on a cricket on the table, looking utterly lifeless.

"Why so dispirited? Did you get dumped or go bankrupt?" Su Miao teased as she sauntered in.

It had only been a week since she last saw him. How had this kid wilted so much?

Was this really the same arrogant young master who used to refer to himself as "young lord" all the time?

"Su Miao?" Hearing her voice, Xiao Zeyan's head snapped up, his eyes instantly brightening. "You finally came!"

He stood up abruptly, knocking over the cage containing the cricket. Without even a glance at it, he rushed towards Su Miao, arms outstretched as if to hug her.

Su Miao raised an eyebrow and held up two fingers to stop Xiao Zeyan. "Looking to get beaten up?"

Hearing this, Xiao Zeyan withdrew his arms.

Without waiting for an invitation, Su Miao sat down on the sofa, crossing her long legs. Her slender fingers pulled out a cigarette from the box. She lowered her eyes to light it, her red lips exhaling a ring of smoke.

"Miao Miao, you've finally come. I've missed you so much," Xiao Zeyan sat on the sofa opposite her, his tone plaintive and his gaze even more so, like a little wife waiting for her husband to return home.

"You're back from abroad after just a week of not seeing me?" Su Miao asked.

"Huh?"

"I didn't go abroad. I didn't even leave Hai City."

"Then how come you've had a sex change?" If you're going to speak, speak properly. What's with all this clinginess?

Xiao Zeyan: "..."

You really have a way with words. I can hardly tell I'm being mocked at all.

"Have you thought about what I proposed last time?" Xiao Zeyan returned to his normal demeanor.

Su Miao lifted her eyelids slightly, her red, luscious lips curving into a faint smile as she exhaled a puff of smoke. "May I ask why?"

"Of course, it's because you can fight," Xiao Zeyan said directly.

Su Miao nodded casually, "Mm, that's true indeed."

Xiao Zeyan: "..."

You're not even trying to be modest, are you?

"I remember your club had someone who was quite good at fighting. Why do you need me?" Su Miao asked.

The mention of this set Xiao Zeyan off. "Don't mention that ungrateful bastard."

"Oh?" Su Miao's interest was suddenly piqued. Looks like there's a story here. "What happened? Did he try to steal your girl? Or did he turn you into an environmentalist?"

"No," Xiao Zeyan's mouth twitched slightly.

"He was poached by Wu Shao. Last time when he said he was injured, he was actually lying." If it wasn't for Su Miao being there that time, he would have been completely duped.

"I see," Su Miao said.

She had thought she might hear some interesting gossip, but this was boring.

"So, you see, I'm short-staffed now," Xiao Zeyan laid it all out. "Didn't you say you wanted to make money last time? Come work for me, I'll offer you a price that will definitely satisfy you."

Su Miao leaned back on the sofa, the slim cigarette between her red lips, her bright eyes narrowed. "You think you can secure a long-term partnership with me just based on price?"

Xiao Zeyan's face instantly stiffened, his tone becoming serious, "Aren't you being too ambitious? Aren't you afraid you can't handle it?"

"I have the ability," Su Miao sat up straight, her gaze towards Xiao Zeyan filled with confidence. "If you want a long-term partnership with me, you need to show some sincerity."

"Well... let me think about it," Xiao Zeyan hesitated.

Money wasn't an issue for him, but Su Miao actually wanted to directly interfere with his business. She was asking for too much.

She should know that he didn't just have Hai City.

This was only his smallest territory. Did she have any idea how vast his operations were? She was truly making outrageous demands.

Su Miao exhaled a cloud of smoke, "I'll give you the time it takes to smoke one cigarette to consider. Think it over carefully before I finish this cigarette. The offer won't stand after that."

Xiao Zeyan wanted to refuse, but upon meeting her determined gaze, he closed his mouth.

He was torn.

His business involved too many complex aspects and interests. For Su Miao to casually ask for a share seemed like an excessive demand to him.

Time flew by as ash fell from the cigarette.

Su Miao extinguished the cigarette butt with one hand, tossing it into a nearby teacup. Her eyes fixed on Xiao Zeyan, she said, "Time's up."
